Alice was born in February 1797 in Harwood and her baptism took place on February 5th, 1797 at Bradshaw Chapel.1  Alice's father was John Bolton and her mother was Sarah Roscow. She had two brothers and five sisters, named John, <male>, Elizabeth, Ann, Sarah, Alice and Dorothy.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
