Ann was born in September 1785 in Harwood and her baptism took place on September 18th, 1785 at Bradshaw Chapel.1  Ann's father was John Bolton and her mother was Sarah Roscow. She had two brothers and five sisters, named John, <male>, Elizabeth, Sarah, Alice, Dorothy and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.
