Edward's father was Edward Bennett and his mother was Elizabeth Jane Wood. His paternal grandparents were Cap John Bennett and Jane Roberts. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John, Benjamin, Mark, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Jane, Jane, Hattie, Gladys and Emma. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 78 in 1962 in Millard.¹
