Edward was born in 1870 in Utah (UT).¹ Edward's father was Edward James Arthur and his mother was Catherine Bennett. His maternal grandparents were Cap John Bennett and Jane Roberts. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named John, Irvin, Benjamin, Catherine, Jane, Marrian, Margeret, Eleanor, Gladys and Emily. He was the oldest of the eleven known children.
