In 1844 when he was 17, Richard Allen was imprisoned for 3 or 4 months for larceny and fraud.
In 1851, Richard a tailor and Hannah (24 & 25) were at Richmond Terrace, Little Bolton with son Jopseph Allen (2).
In 1861, Richard, now a gardener, and Hannah (35 & 36) were at Bank House, Halliwell with sons Joseph and Richard Allen (12 & 2). They were living with Richards mother Elizabeth Allen (68, Wid, b.WIgan) and brother William (41, a Tailor).
In 1871, Richard a gardener and Hannah (44 & 45, both born Bolton) were at 8 Cope Bank, Halliwell with Joseph (22), Richard T (12), Frederick W (8) and John Heaton (8).
