Betty was born in 1912. Betty's father was Leonard McDonnald Allen and her mother was Clara (Maud) Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betsy Pendlebury Langshaw. She had a sister named Ruth. She was the older of the two known children. She died at the age of 96 in 2008.
