William Girdlestone 
William was born in 1836 in North Walsham, Swanton, Norfolk, England. William's father was George Girdlestone and his mother was Mary Ann Doughty. His paternal grandparents were William James Girdlestone and Martha Humphries. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named George, Matthew, John, Charles, Elizabeth, Martha, Mary Ann, Sarah, Charlotte Catherine, Eliza and Rebecca. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 72 in 1908 in North Walsham, Swanton, Norfolk, England.-
