John Butler

John was born in 1900 in Morley, Leeds, Yorkshire.¹ John's father was Joseph Butler and his mother was Mary Braithwaite. His paternal grandparents were William Butler and Mary Arendall. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Harry, Sam, Isaac, Willie, Sarah, Ellen, Annie and Louie. He was the youngest of the nine children.
