Thomas was born on March 2nd, 1903 in Hastings, New Zealand.¹ Thomas' father was William TAYLOR and his mother was Charlotte (Lottie) COOK. His maternal grandparents were John Edward COOK and Fanny HALL. He had two brothers and a sister, named Jack, Bill and Doris. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 92 in 1995 in Whakatane, New Zealand. His burial was in Havelock North Cemetery, New Zealand.¹¹
