David Gowans Gibson

David was born on January 30th, 1832 in Kirkden, Angus, Scotland and his baptism took place there on February 18th, 1832.¹   David's father was James Gibson and his mother was Margaret  Bruce Hardie.  His paternal grandparents were Alexander Gibson and Isabella Greig; his maternal grandparents were James Hardie and Christian Thomson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William, James, Ann, Jean, Mary and Agnes.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 36 on April 8th, 1868 in Arbroath, Angus, Scotland.  He was buried on April 11th, 1868 in Arbroath, Angus, Scotland.^2 3
