Mary Lee was born on March 20th, 1862 in Rockingham Co, NC.1   Mary Lee's father was James Dutch Roberts and her mother was Nancy Jane Sneed.  Her paternal grandparents were James Roberts and Susannah Thomas. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Adolphus Douglas, James William, Sarah Lou, Susie, Caroline Matilda, Martha S., Catherine Eliza and Cornelia Sophia 'Nealy'.  She was the third youngest of the nine children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Robert, James W., John Willie, Robert Monroe 'Monk', Martha, Minnie and Mattie Ivie.  She died at the age of 72 on June 28th, 1934 in Stoneville, Rockingham Co, NC.  She was buried on June 29th, 1934 in Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville, Rockingham Co, NC.1
