Catherine Eliza was born on March 11th, 1861 in Rockingham Co, NC.1   Catherine Eliza's father was James Dutch Roberts and her mother was Nancy Jane Sneed.  Her paternal grandparents were James Roberts and Susannah Thomas. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Adolphus Douglas, James William, Sarah Lou, Susie, Caroline Matilda, Martha S., Mary Lee and Cornelia Sophia 'Nealy'.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Robert, James W., John Willie, Robert Monroe 'Monk', Martha, Minnie and Mattie Ivie.  She died at the age of 84 on August 22nd, 1945 in Stoneville, Rockingham Co, NC.  She was buried on August 23rd, 1945 in Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville, Rockingham Co, NC.1
