George W. was born in 1816 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 George W.'s father was James Roberts and his mother was Susannah Thomas. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Roberts and Sarah Joyce. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Michael F., John, Richard M., Daniel, James Dutch, Nebuchanezer, Martha and Mary. He was the oldest of the nine children. He had four half-brothers named Noah, Robert, William Allen and Henry. He died in Rockingham Co, NC.1 General Notes
