Daniel Roberts 
Daniel was born in 1823 in Rockingham Co, NC. Daniel's father was James Roberts and his mother was Susannah Thomas. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Roberts and Sarah Joyce. He had six brothers and two sisters, named George W., Michael F., John, Richard M., James Dutch, Nebuchanezer, Martha and Mary. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He had four half-brothers named Noah, Robert, William Allen and Henry.1 General Notes
