John H. was born about 1841 in Davie Co N C.1 John H.'s father was Weldon " William" Goode Foster and his mother was Zilphia "Silpha" Jarvis. His paternal grandparents were Zenas G. Foster and Dinah Taylor. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Henderson W., Alexander, Franklin "Francis", Joseph Henry, Hannah, Mary Ann and Edith Edney. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died in North Carolina.-
