Amanda M. was born on May 29th, 1836 in McDonough Co, IL.1 Amanda M.'s father was George Washington Welch and her mother was Mary D. Caldwell. Her paternal grandparents were Osias Welch and Elizabeth Rowland; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Caldwell and Nancy Caldwell. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named Elijah A., Elisha C., James M., David L., George S., Charles T., John H., William Joseph, Albert B., Nancy J., Mary Adaline, Sarah Isabell and Emma T.. She was the oldest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 87 on September 16th, 1923 in Houston, Harris Co, TX.1 -
