Medard Metivier 
Medard was born on September 25th, 1815 in St. Jean, Quebec, Canada.1 Medard's father was Louis Gedeon Metivier and his mother was Marie Louise Giroux. His paternal grandparents were Jacques Metivier and Marie Catherine Minville; his maternal grandparents were Basile Giroux and Marie Louise Brosseau. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Basile, Francois, Louis Gedeon, Baptiste Moise, Marie Angelique, Elenore, Clotilde, Marie Salomee, Julienne, Marguerite and Marie Louise. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He had a half-sister named Mary Elizabeth.1 -
