William Francis Malphrus 
William Francis was born on June 6th, 1869 in Ridgeland, Jasper Co., SC.1 William Francis' father was Seaborn Nathaniel Malphrus and his mother was Sarah Jane Mulligan. His paternal grandparents were William Edward Malphrus and Kitsiah Woods; his maternal grandparents were Francis Mulligan and Eliza Lavonia Dean. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Henry Brooker, George Washington, Joseph, Ashby Marcellus, Andrew O., Cary Woodville, Cornelius Edward, Albert Preacher, Sarah Ida and Anna Ada. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 72 on July 18th, 1941.1 -
