Cornelius Edward Malphrus 
Cornelius Edward was born on February 8th, 1886 in Ridgeland, Jasper Co., SC.1 Cornelius Edward's father was Seaborn Nathaniel Malphrus and his mother was Sarah Jane Mulligan. His paternal grandparents were William Edward Malphrus and Kitsiah Woods; his maternal grandparents were Francis Mulligan and Eliza Lavonia Dean. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Henry Brooker, William Francis, George Washington, Joseph, Ashby Marcellus, Andrew O., Cary Woodville, Albert Preacher, Sarah Ida and Anna Ada. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 84 on June 7th, 1970.1 General Notes
