Lewis Jones

Lewis was born in 1771 in Poundridge, Fairfield, Connecticut.¹ Lewis' father was Benjamin Jones and his mother was Jemima Delavan. His paternal grandfather was Ebenezer Jones. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James, John, Benjamin, Harry, Major, Samuel, Rhoda, Rebecca and Elizabeth. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.¹
