John Jones

John was born about 1761 in Poundridge, Fairfield, Connecticut.¹ John's father was Benjamin Jones and his mother was Jemima Delavan. His paternal grandfather was Ebenezer Jones. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James, Benjamin, Lewis, Harry, Major, Samuel, Rhoda, Rebecca and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the ten children.¹
