James Jones

James was born about 1755 in Poundridge, Fairfield, Connecticut.¹ James' father was Benjamin Jones and his mother was Jemima Delavan. His paternal grandfather was Ebenezer Jones. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Benjamin, Lewis, Harry, Major, Samuel, Rhoda, Rebecca and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the ten children.¹
