Alexander S was born on October 14th, 1817 in Ohio, USA.1 Alexander S' father was Robert Orr and his mother was Sarah Messersmith. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Orr and Margaret Peggy Ramsey; his maternal grandparents were Andrew Messersmith and Elizabeth Sawyer. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Andrew R, William, Hiram, Robert, Samuel, Melinda, Elizabeth Ann, Martha Jane, Margaret and Nancy J. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 77 on April 13th, 1895 in Auburn, Illinois, USA.1 General Notes
