James Daniel Evans 
James Daniel was born on December 11th, 1876 in Mars Bluff, SC.1 James Daniel's father was James Evans and his mother was Marie Antoinette Powell. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Evans and Jane Beverly Daniel; his maternal grandparents were William Alexander Powell and Lucy Peachy Lee. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Powell, William Alexander, Thomas, Jane Beverly, Maria Lee, Maria Antionette, Lucy Peachy and Llewellyn Stewart. James Daniel Evans, the third son, born at Mars Bluff, SC., Dec 11, 1876, an undergraduate of South Carolina College, class of 1898, received the degree of Bachelor of Laws at the same institution in 1900, and was admitted to the South Carolina bar. He came to Philadelphia and practiced law in that city until 1908, when he returned to his native state and now resides at Florence, Florence Co., Sc. He is the author of a history of the Evans family, from which mos t of the data in this sketch is obtained, and is a member of Maxie Greeg Chapter, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and of the University of Southern Clubs in Philadelphia.
