Louis VIII "The Lion" of was born in 1187 in Paris, Ville-de-Paris, France.  Louis VIII "The Lion" of's father was Philippe II Auguste of France and his mother was Isabella Von Hennegau.  His paternal grandparents were Louis VII "The Younger" Capet and Eleanor d'Aquitaine et Poitou; his maternal grandparents were Baldwin V Von Hennegau and Margarethe Von Flandern.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 39 on November 8th, 1226 in Chateau De Montpellier, Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dome, France.
