Margarethe was born in Alsace, Lorraine, France.  Margarethe's father was Dietrich II Von Flandern and her mother was Sibylla De Anjou.  Her paternal grandparents were Dietrich II Herzog Von Ober-Lothrin and Gertrud Von Flandern; her maternal grandparents were Fulk of Jerusalem and Ermengarde or Ermentrude du Maine. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Philip of, Peter of, Matthew, Pierre of, Gertrude of and Matilda of. She had a half-sister named Laurette of.  She died on December 17th, 1195.


Margarethe's first family with Rudolph II de Vermandois

‌Margarethe and Rudolph II were married in a religious ceremony about 1160.


Margarethe's second family with Baldwin V Von Hennegau

‌Margarethe and Baldwin V were married in a religious ceremony in April 1169.  They had five sons and three daughters, named Baldwin VI of, Philip I, Henry of, Eustace, Godfrey of, Isabella, Yolande of and Sybille.
