William VI of was born in Poitiers, Aquitaine, France.  William VI of's father was Eudes de Poitiers and his mother was Agnes de Bourgogne.  His paternal grandparents were William V of Aquitaine and Prisca of Gascony; his maternal grandparents were Orthon-William of Macon and Ermentrude (Irmtrude) of Rheims. He had a brother and three sisters, named Guillaume V D'Aigret, Beatrice, Agnes of and Adelaide of.  He died on September 25th, 1086.
