William Spencer 
William was born about 1820 in KY. William's father was Samuel S. Spencer and his mother was Elizabeth Troxell. His paternal grandfather was Michael C. Spencer and his paternal grandmother is Hannah Mattingly; his maternal grandfather was Frederick Troxell and his maternal grandmother is Anna Hess. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John Jr., Joseph, James, Apollis Hess, Jane, Anna Hess, Darlinda, Letha, Zerilda and Elizabeth.
