Mary Jane was born on May 1st, 1840 in Greentop, Schuyler Co., MO. Mary Jane's father was John Mikels and her mother was Louisa Bethany Minton. Her paternal grandparents were David Hugh Michael and Lucinda Doty. She had three brothers and a sister, named William S., James Purvis, Abraham Lee and Rebecca Adeline. She was the second youngest of the five children. She died on August 7th in Adair Co., MO > 8/1903.General Notes
