Strangeman+ Hutchins 
Strangeman+ was born in 1707 in Henrico Co., VA. Strangeman+'s father was Nicholas+ Hutchins and his mother was Mary+ Holmes Watkins. His paternal grandparents were John Hutchins and Mary Polly Strangeman; his maternal grandfather is Henry+ Watkins and his maternal grandmother was Mary+ Crispe. He had three sisters named Catherine+, Mary and Martha. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 85 on February 10th, 1792 in Surry Co (Yadkin Co.), NC.General Notes
Strangeman was very involved with the (Hanover Co.)Cedar Creek Friends Church. Activities included serving as witness, overseer, clerk and elder. He freed 12 slaves by a deed of Manumission in 1782. All indications are that Strangeman was an active man with remarkable abilities.

‌Strangeman+ and Elizabeth+ were married in a religious ceremony in 1731. They had four sons and seven daughters, named John, Nicholas+, Thomas, Benjamin, Mary, Edith, Elizabeth, Obedience, Jane, Millicent and Lydia.
