Nicholas+ was born on January 9th, 1740 in Cedar Creek Mm, Hanover, VA. Nicholas+'s father was Strangeman+ Hutchins and his mother was Elizabeth+ Cox. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas+ Hutchins and Mary+ Holmes Watkins; his maternal grandparents were Richard+ Cox and Mary+ Trent. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named John, Thomas, Benjamin, Mary, Edith, Elizabeth, Obedience, Jane, Millicent and Lydia. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.
