James Elphinstone 
James was born about 1580. James' father was Alexander Elphinstone and his mother is Jean Livingstone. His paternal grandfather was Robert Elphinstone and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Drummond; his maternal grandfather was William Livingstone and his maternal grandmother is Agnes Fleming. He had a brother and two sisters, named Alexander, Jean and Christian. He is the oldest of the four children.General Notes
