Alexander Elphinstone 
Alexander was born about 1584. Alexander's father was Alexander Elphinstone and his mother is Jean Livingstone. His paternal grandfather was Robert Elphinstone and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Drummond; his maternal grandfather was William Livingstone and his maternal grandmother is Agnes Fleming. He had a brother and two sisters, named James, Jean and Christian. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died in 1649.General Notes
