Parthenia Eastin 
Parthenia was born on November 10th, 1828 in MO. Parthenia's father was James Thomas Eastin and her mother was Theodotia South. Her paternal grandparents were John+ Eastin and Mary Elender+ Orchard. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Rufus, Brutus, James Thomas, Octavius, Oscar, John Sullivan, Cassius Columbus, Roland Hoy, Elizabeth, Eleanor Orchard and Judith. She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 39 on July 20th, 1868 in Stockton, San Joaquin, CA.General Notes

Perhaps the family followed the Gold Rush in `48-49? Stockton was a sleepy little inland port until the Gold Rush, and Parthenia was apparently a part of that very interesting history.
