Ralph, known as "the Timid", was born in Vexin, Île-de-France, France.  "the Timid"'s father was Count Drogo of Vexin & Mantes and his mother was Princess Godgifu of England.  His paternal grandfather was Count Gautier ("the White") de Vexin II of Vexin, Valois, & Amiens and his paternal grandmother is Adele de Senlis; his maternal grandparents were King Aethelred ("the Unready" (without counsel)) II of the English and Princess Emma of Normandy. He had a sister named Adele.  He died on December 21st, 1057 in Herefordshire, England.  He was buried in Abbey, Peterborough, Northamptonshire, England.


"the Timid"'s first family with Gytha FitzOsgood

‌"the Timid" and Gytha were married in a religious ceremony in 1038.  They had two sons named Harold de Ewias and Lesire.
