Clemence was born about 1060 in Poitou, France.  Clemence's father was Duke William Pierre VII of Aquitaine and her mother was Ermesinde de Longwy.  Her paternal grandparents were Duke William Pierre ("the Great", "the Grand", "fier de bras") de Poitou III or V of Aquitaine and Agnes de Macon of Burgundy; her maternal grandfather was Count Adalbert de Longwy III and her maternal grandmother is Clemence de Foix. She had a sister named Clemence. She had a half-sister named Agnes.  She died after 1129.


Clemence's family with Conrad I of Luxembourg

‌Clemence and Conrad were married in a religious ceremony in 1070.  They had two daughters named Mathilde and Ermesinde.
