Adeliza or Ann was born about 1069 in Tunbridge, Kent, England. Adeliza or Ann's father was Earl Richard FitzGilbert de Clare and her mother was Rohese Giffard. Her paternal grandfather was Count Gilbert ("Crispin") of Brionne and her paternal grandmother is Constance de Eu; her maternal grandparents were Earl Walter Giffard I of Buckingham and Agnes Ermentrude Flaitel. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Osbern, Richard FitzRichard, Robert FitzRichard, Gilbert FitzRichard, Ronais, Avice and Rohese. She was the youngest of the nine children. She died after 1138.
