Mary Jane Wheeler 
Mary Jane was born on March 29th, 1832 in Franklin Twp,Shelby Co, Indiana.1 Mary Jane's father was Benjamin"Mine" Wheeler and her mother was Sarah Barlow. Her paternal grandparents were Archelaus\Archer Wheeler and Mildred Lyle; her maternal grandparents were Lewis Barlow and Judah Frances Smith. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Henry, Archibald- Archelaus, Angelina Lina, Dicey, Berila Rilla, Elizabeth"Betsy", Judea, Emilia Mildred Milly and Sarah Ann. She was the second youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 43 on June 23rd, 1875 in Rising Sun, Polk Co, Iowa. She was buried in Rising Sun, Ia.General Notes
Sarah Barlow Wheeler was apppointed guardian of Mary Jane Randolph (aminor over 14 but under 21) in May 14, 1848 according to Shelby CountyCourt Records Book D, pg 186. She was 16 and already married so I lookedher up in Shelby County Marriage Records and found her married to LewisFitz Randolph on August 2, 1847.
Mary Jane and her husband, Lewis, moved to a farm four milessouthwest of Altoona, Polk Co, Iowa. Lewis died at age 32 and Mary Janeremarried to James Jones of Mitchellville, Iowa. She shows up in the1860 Census, Deleware Twp, p224, Household #395 as head of household,with her mother Sarah,69, and 6 children. She also shows up in the 1870Iowa census in Deleware Twp remarried to James Jones, with one childGeorge, age 1, and her mother Sarah, age 79.
