On the 1870 census, Allen Twp, Altoona, Iaow, we find him ashousehold #18, age 40, farmer, born Indiana, with wife nancy, age 35, andson John, 14, and Benjamin (Lee) age 12.
Archibald was married, second to Magdalina Enfield Keys, June 10,1886, witnessed by son, John Wheeler. The Marriage record (IowaHistorical Library) records his name as "Archelaus" Wheeler, fatherBenjamin, mother Sarah Barlow. He was 55 in 1886. ref # 2233.
Anne Astley worte "Archibald served in the Civil War in themilitia. He was a farmer and he had a Land Grant in Polk county, datedMay 5, 1853. He is buried with his first wife Nancy in the oldYoungstown Cemetery, know known as Oakridge Cemetery."
