William Given 
William was born on June 18th, 1773 in Augusta Co., Va. William's father was William Given and his mother was Nancy Agnes Bratton. His paternal grandfather was Major John Given and his paternal grandmother is Mary Margaret Sitlington; his maternal grandparents were Robert Bratton and Ann McFarland. He had seven brothers and seven sisters, named Robert, Samuel, Adam, James, John, George, Henry, Sarah "Sally" Hannah, Janet "Ginny", Mary, Isabella, Anne, Margaret "Peggy" and Agnes. He was the fifth oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 47 in 1820 in Braxton Co., Wv.-
