Margaret "Peggy" was born in 1792. Margaret "Peggy"'s father was William Given and her mother was Nancy Agnes Bratton. Her paternal grandfather was Major John Given and her paternal grandmother is Mary Margaret Sitlington; her maternal grandparents were Robert Bratton and Ann McFarland. She had eight brothers and six sisters, named Robert, William, Samuel, Adam, James, John, George, Henry, Sarah "Sally" Hannah, Janet "Ginny", Mary, Isabella, Anne and Agnes. She is the second youngest of the fifteen children.-
