Janet "Ginny" was born on March 27th, 1770. Janet "Ginny"'s father was William Given and her mother was Nancy Agnes Bratton. Her paternal grandfather was Major John Given and her paternal grandmother is Mary Margaret Sitlington; her maternal grandparents were Robert Bratton and Ann McFarland. She had eight brothers and six sisters, named Robert, William, Samuel, Adam, James, John, George, Henry, Sarah "Sally" Hannah, Mary, Isabella, Anne, Margaret "Peggy" and Agnes. She is the third oldest of the fifteen children.-
