Marie L. Gowen 
Marie L. was born on October 5th, 1884 in Colorado, Texas.1 Marie L.'s father was John Steel Gowen and her mother was Maria Jane Johnston. Her maternal grandparents were William E. Johnston and Elizabeth Miles Allen. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John Linder, Eddie Steel, Jesse Eugene, May Bell, Mattie, Irene Redden and Florence Adella. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 86 in 1970 in Eagle Lake, Colorado Co., Texas.1 General Notes
