Mary Louise was born in 1875 in Christian Light, Harnett Co., North Carolina.1 Mary Louise's father was Burwell Dean and her mother was Tilitha Jane Cotton. Her paternal grandparents are Wilson Dean and Dolly Woodall; her maternal grandfather is Joseph Cotton and her maternal grandmother was Mary A. Truelove. She had two brothers named Thomas Franklin and Benton. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 66 on April 25th, 1941.1 General Notes
