Joseph Randal was born on December 15th, 1870 in Hector's Creek, Harnett Co., North Carolina.1 Joseph Randal's father is James W. Senter and his mother was Charlotte Hilliard. His paternal grandfather was Blake Senter and his paternal grandmother is Caroline Johnson; his maternal grandparents are Henry Hillard and Lucinda Unknown. He had three brothers and a sister, named James Eldridge, William H., Etheldred D. and Etta F.. He was the second youngest of the five children.
