Nancy Elizabeth was born on November 29th, 1844 in Tennessee.1 Nancy Elizabeth's father was Samuel Howard Bassham and her mother was Mary Jane Sheppard. Her paternal grandparents were Drury Bassham and Elizabeth Josephine Unknown. She had two brothers named Drury Washington and James W. Shepherd (Ship). She was the oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Samuel, Eugene, Roena and Barbara Ellen. She died at the age of 38 in 1882 in Lawrence Co., Tennessee.1 General Notes
