Jewel Basham 
Jewel was born on November 16th, 1913 in Grandview, Johnson Co., Texas.1 Jewel's father was Virgil Nathan Basham and her mother was Sarah Ellen Kirkland. Her paternal grandparents were Beuford B. Basham and Mary Jane Hall; her maternal grandparents were Robert Francis Kirkland and Frances (Fannie) Smith. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Infant Son, Infant Son, Myron (Toy), Kermit, Ernest Virgil, Cleatus Mae and Vera Nell. She was the second youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 87 on September 15th, 2001 in Weatherford, Parker Co., Texas. She was buried in Laurel Land, Tarrant Co., Fort Worth.1 1 General Notes
