Hugh Smith 
Hugh was born about 1824 in Tennessee.1 Hugh's father was Alexander Smith and his mother was Frances Unknown. He had four brothers and a sister, named Samuel, Burwell, Hermon, Alfred and Louisa. He was the oldest of the six children. He died after 1870.1 General Notes

Hugh and Elender (Ellen) were married in a religious ceremony about 1844.1 They had a son and six daughters, named Riley, Malinda, Jemima (Mima), Frances (Fannie), Martha J., Floretta and Ellen.

Jemima (Mima) Smith
Jemima (Mima) was born on August 16th, 1847 in Tennessee.1 She died at the age of 75 on April 24th, 1923 in Wise Co., Texas.1
Frances (Fannie) Smith
Frances (Fannie) was born about February 1850 in Tennessee.1 She died on February 17th, 1921 in Paradise, Wise Co., Texas.1
