Sarah J. L. was born about 1838 in Georgia.1 Sarah J. L.'s father was Lewis Wesley Lancaster and her mother was Louisa M. Bassett. Her maternal grandparents were John Bassett and AGATHA Heard. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, John William Bassett, Lewis Thomas S., James Floyd, Richard Lawson, Martha A., Nancy Mahala and Agatha L.. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died after 1920. She was buried in Lancaster Cemetery, Heard Co. GA.1 1 -
