William Amick Higgins 
William Amick was born on June 9th, 1910. William Amick's father was Daniel Parent Higgins and his mother was Mary Roman Wright. His maternal grandparents were JAMES Montgomery Wright and NANCY Miller. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Dual Parent, Thomas W., Alvord W., Kenneth W., ? and Rena Mary. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Hugh Jediah, Howard Rex, Dewey Paul and Helen Josephine. He died at the age of 81 on April 11th, 1992 in Hendesonville, Henderson Co., North Carolina. He was buried on April 14th, 1992 in Shepard Memorial Park, Hendersonville, North Carolina.General Notes

William A. Higgins was born in West Virginia in 1910. He attended Washington Missionary (now Columbia Union) College. In 1930 he married Garnette Ridenour. That same year he entered the colporteur work and as continued in it for the past 42 years.
As a publishing-department secretary for 18 years in the General conference, the author has visited every corner of the globe, training thousands of men and women in the art of Christian literature salesmanship. He has wept with them and sung God's praises with them. He has faced well-nigh insurmountable problems with them and he has buried their harvest in Christian baptism.
He has walked with the bookman near the firing lines of Vietnam. He has known firsthand what it means to be a bookman in the jungles of Africa. He has felt the handgrip of courageous bookmen faced with opposition that could mean death. He has seen the scars of activist prejudice. And through it all he has seen God at work, moving upon the hearts of men.
From this vast reservoir of living, Bill Higgins weaves his stories of true experience that still others might be inspired to the challenge of carrying God's message to every corner of earth.
